• We prefer to shoot Elopement Portraits rather than simply documenting your vows - there are many talented photographers who excel at documenting the event itself - Our goal and focus is to provide truly epic, once-in-a-lifetime images! Images you simply cannot get with a 'by the hour' photographer. We are familiar with many wedding photographers and can recommend some who are outstanding at their craft if that is your need. We, however, are at our best a week or two after your wedding, when nerves have quieted, and you have had a chance to breathe. When you are on your honeymoon, perhaps. Or a year after, when you are celebrating your first anniversary - those are the prime times for epic portraits. Far-off locations, epic scenery and grand adventures are our slice of heaven! Our own travels are filled with out of the way experiences, and that's where we prefer to be when left to our own devices. We are well accustomed to truck camping, rough roads and being far from cell service. The exploration of remote corners of the landscape, and the intimate knowledge gained from feeling each new place, is akin to wanderlust for us but much more relaxed and involved. During our own travels we seek to learn the feel of, the rhythm of, the truth of a place. This leads to a deeper understanding of each place we visit and often return to - to experience the magic each different spot has to offer. We tread lightly, leaving no trace in the lands we frequent. So much so we are often gifted with the songs of the wild, the soft mews of cow elk speaking to their young and the bugling of the bulls echoing through the trees. Lauren is ever present to assist clients when needed, and many have commented on the calm environment she fosters, the liberation and comfort that so often accompanies nude photography. Whether in conjunction with a wedding or elopement, as a gift to self or another, or to simply pamper, Art Nude is a very rewarding experience that has gained popularity in recent years. We pride ourselves in being able to produce timeless images that defy trends, to showcase our clients' innate beauty, and promote healthy, happy self-awareness and expression. We are well versed in the legalities of public nudity, particularly here in Oregon where nudity is expressly protected during the creation or display of art! And while we are ever watchful of being 'discovered' while shooting outdoors, we are also uniquely positioned as photographers who can dedicate our creativity to advancing the craft of Art Nude Photography. Quick "gorilla" style shoots where the subject quickly disrobes, and the shot is over and done before anyone notices are often the only way to get that iconic image, and we have extensive experience with such projects. We also have extensive experience with highly detailed planning for remote locations ranging from waterfalls to open meadows, vast barren landscapes to hot springs in the forest! When weather or situations demand, our humble studio is a warm space where we are free to create without concern of interruption, and at a relaxed pace. A space where clients are safe to experience and emote, to be physically and emotionally bare and unfettered. • Why is our work different from regular Portraiture?
There are 2 main reasons to consider Art Portraiture, but many more nuanced reasons as well.
- First, Art Portraiture is lit to match the face of the individual(s) in the best possible way while keeping a natural feel about the image. We take extra care to create a "box of light" within which clients can move and emote without compromising the quality of our lighting arangement. This is particularly important with couples where faces are often turned towards each other as if in conversation, so the light has to be flexible enough to ensure proper, consistent and meaningful illumination of both faces.
- Second, careful attention to the out of focus area of an image is paramount to success in portraiture. We have the equipment and skills to craft an image where the viewer's eyes are drawn to the most important elements of that picture, and keep the viewer engaged longer than with standard "flat" lighting. With that said, sometimes that lighting made fameous by youtube and tictok where a ring of LEDs light the subject straight-on *does have it's purpose* but that is usually NOT portraiture. We can do it all, depending on need, but our images are set apart from others' by our artful lighting.

• Corporate or Business Portraiture:
- We create "consistency of look" for corporate projects that match the image of that particular corporation's branding.
- We are able to create different artistic "looks" for different groups within the corporation.
- We are often called upon for the duplication of a "branded look" consistent with prior photos on the corporate website that can't be re-shot.

• Individual and Couples Portraiture:
- Advanced posing techniques to produce an image that doesn't *look* posed.
- Creative lighting techniques to highlight different "moods" within a couple's relationship ranging from intimate and loving, to unified and unbreakable, to light hearted and easy.
- Consistency of "look" for triptics, books and albums. Our printing skills help maintain consistent quality across all output forms whether in lay-flat coffee table books, or framed/mounted art on the wall, or even triptic panels as a centerpiece of a larger display.

• Headshots and Portraits:
We also produce a wide range of headshot images to meet our clients' needs. Headshots, as with every other type we shoot, are done as Art Portraiture. Yes, we cost a bit more than some others, but we feel the extra care is worth every penny.
- Authors, actors, singers, musicians and other performers need up-to-date headshots to show their current look! We produce eye-catching, affordable and true to life images that distinguish you from your competition.
- Businesses often have a particular "look" required for their target demographic, usually involving display across multiple platforms. We keep your look consistant across platforms from print to social media, and create images that seamlessly dovetail with your branding efforts.
- Headshots for dating sites are also a common request. We show the real you, but the best you possible so when you finally meet that person on the other side of the keyboard, they already feel you are familiar - that bit of ice is already broken. This also removes the potential for disappointment on that important first date!
