Davis Photo Arts Boudoir Portfolio Thumbnail

Model: Denisa Strakova

Boudoir went mainstream quite some time ago, and while we fully recognize and respect that it's not for everyone, we also understand everyone has distinctly individualized expectations which shape their vision of Boudoir - so it can mean many things to many people.

What is the full range of Boudoir we shoot?

Great question! At one end of the spectrum we find simple, playful and gently suggestive images - 'off the shoulder' hints of sensuality such as a woman wrapped in her husband's dress shirt. The other end of the spectrum can be wearing nothing but your cowboy hat while splashing in a water trough surrounded by horses!

We shoot images up to Art Nude style, no further.

We're story tellers at heart - comfortable and highly skilled at producing classic Bodyscapes and Dynamic dance and flowing fabric portraits - from alluring Pinup to modern Art Nude!
We keep it classy, playful, and respectful.
We also keep it private.

Whatever your vision, we always handle your Boudoir photoshoot with the utmost discretion.

Boudoir was added to our services back when it was called "Intimate Portraiture". As artists, we have always had an accepting view regarding nudity in it's classical focus from sculpture to modern art, so we were receptive when asked to shoot an art series following an elopement photoshoot. Those first images were breathtakingly beautiful, and our client was blown away! So we began to offer Boudoir as part of our repertoire! We feel that we are preemmenently positioned as artists to bring delicate and emotionally enveloping artwork to your Elopement (or as stand-alone images!) We believe there is nothing to be ashamed of in this mode of expression.

We celebrate the human form, the beauty of creation, and focus on the intimate while avoiding the explicit.

Interested in Boudoir but unsure about how to get started?

It all begins with a simple phone call...

We are very approachable and comfortable discussing what can often be a sensitive topic. The first thing to realize is that being a little nervous is normal! While wrapping up their photoshoot many clients have described their amazement of how natural it felt to be so free and expressive in front of the camera! Overcoming nerves is part of the growth and reward that Boudoir offers! From the very first phone call, we build a rapport with you, understanding the details of your vision, and your level of comfort is always a defining factor.
During your phone call with us we will discuss your vision for your photoshoot, employing polite but frank language so we can be certain we have the right idea of what you're describing. We'll ask about the setting, wardrobe, and the purpose of your shoot. Is it a gift for another, or a gift to yourself perhaps? Will you be asking for prints, and if so what type, general size of the prints, etc. All the stuff that needs to be discussed so we can find if we're a good fit for each other. This first call allows us to generate a meaninful estimated range of cost, so we'll also talk about your budget.
We'll ask about any particular editing requests you may have - for instance, some people have a special mole or freckles which they feel are part of their identity and need to be retained. Our editing style is gentle, and we edit things that detract from the harmony of your image while staying true to your presention. To do this well, we need to know if there is anything you particularly *want* removed, or kept.

During your Boudoir Photoshoot...

You'll enjoy a safe and supportive atmosphere - we are a team, with Lauren recording video if desired while Steven focuses on the scene we've created and the technical aspects of your photoshoot.
Some forms of Boudoir require special hair styles and makeup, and in such cases we can either hire a stylist to attend to you, or many choose to see their own stylist before the shoot. We feel the *best* results for hair and makeup are attained by hiring a professional Hair & MakeUp Artist (HMUA) who understands the particular demands of photography and the type of light we'll be working with (cloudy summer day light is very different from snowy winter light!). And having an HMUA on set means any touchups that might be needed can easily be applied without undue interruption to the flow of your photoshoot.

After Your Photoshoot...

We work up your images, polishing and perfecting the best shots using our private server exclusively. Your images will be edited and seen by us and only us. You may rest assured we do NOT utilize AI in our photography! We edit manually, delicately.
When we have the images ready for review we upload them to your private gallery where you'll be able to see them with different crop ratios, in color or black-and-white, as thumbnails or larger sized with a magnifying loop for detailed inspection and more!
Our galleries allow for building a 'favorites' list, for requesting further editing or alterations to the image, and much more. Or, if you'd prefer, we can meet with you in-person and review them together.

When you've made your selections, it's easy to fill your shopping cart with the print items you want, including notes or instructions specific to each shot. Print orders typically take from 2-3 weeks to deliver, sometimes a bit longer in the busy season.

We include web-ready files of every print ordered on an artfully crafted and beautifully accented wooden gift box USB drive at no extra cost - a wonderful way to keep your memories for special viewings, or as a gift for your loved one!

Check out our Portfolio below and remember:
We do NOT display images of our clients. All subjects you see here are professional models.
Your images are just that: YOURS.
